After breakfast we toured the valley with Nuthatch, Great-spotted woodpecker and family parties of bullfinch before checking on the pond but apart from 3 Common Tern and 1000s of Swifts not a lot else.

Early steam
Arrived with Dave and Colin at Rugby
Station just in time to see LMS Class 5MT 4-6-0 no 44932 being brought in to
platform 6 and prepared for her journey hauling the Cathedrals Express Rugby to
Sailsbury steam special at 7:15am.. Hope she put a smile on some of the early morning
commuters faces on their way to London – they did look a miserable lot. Unfortunately
the weather was overcast and dull and not ideal for photography.

Damp again
Another damp morning at the pond managing 2 Common
Tern, Little Ringed Plover, adult Yellow-legged Gull, Yellow Wagtail and 1000s
of Swift + 100S of House Martin and Swallows including one with a reddish wash on the
chest and belly making it stand out against the others. Only other bird of note
was a juvenile Little Owl that tried to kill its self as flew in front of us between
Napton Reservoir and Broadwell
Plenty of early
morning opportunities to see the shed in the next few days but weather may be cloudy
and wet unfortunately.
