A day spent being
prodded, pricked, stretched and pulled at St Cross Hospital which allowed an opportunity
between appointments to check on jolly’s field for an extended lunch managing a
few Fieldfare & Redwing before they depart, an excitable Great-spotted
Woodpecker, plenty of Great & Blue Tit, 5 Siskin, 2 Lesser Redpoll, 3 Raven,
Sparrowhawk and best of all a Stonechat.
Despite the heavy
traffic the long walk home produced a calling Brambling and another 2
Great-spotted Woodpecker along the Ashlawn Road while the sky was full of gulls
heading for the roost at Draycote Water.
